Agent Feature – Chris Wilson!

Buyer and Seller representative, Chris is one amazing agent!

Chris was born and raised in Prescott, Arizona – a true native of our amazing town! Her and her husband Gary have been married for over twenty years, and are still going strong. They have two children, Carl and Carlie, the former a student at NAU studying Engineering and the later a high school student at Prescott High School.

For the last many years, Chris has been the force behind the success of her husband’s business, a local painting company called Advanced Coatings Incorporated. Advanced Coatings services the Prescott area in both interior and exterior painting.

Chris is truly someone who does it all. She helps her husband run their painting business, has raised and continues to raise their two wonderful children, she volunteers weekly with their Church Prescott Christian Church and with the youth program called Young Life, and on top of all that, is an incredible and beloved real estate agent.

To our team here at the Kathleen Yamauchi Group Real Estate, Chris brings her organizational skills and her passion for helping people, making her a strong and irreplaceable addition to our team. An exuberant personality, Chris brings joy and fun into every transaction she handles, making the process less stressful and more enjoyable for her clients. She also has a knowledge of Prescott unlike any other – along with almost ten years of real estate experience – and will help make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible in your next real estate venture.

Here are some things Chris’ clients have had to say about her:

“My husband and I have both owned previous homes and this was by far the best experience we have had purchasing a home. We felt Chris genuinely had our best interest in mind the entire time. I would highly recommend Chris and this agency!” – Ashley R.

“Chris Wilson excelled in every way!” – Ron and Marilyn B.

“We enjoyed working with Chris – Great Realtor!” – Steve and Clair G.

“Great real estate agency. Chris was honest, hardworking, and professional. She is outstanding!” – Andy and Robin A.

And the praise could go on and on! We love Chris Wilson and are blessed to call her one of our own here at KYG.

A Letter From Our Broker Molly Hohrein

Below is a letter from our broker Molly Hohrein to all our past, present, and future clients. And also to all the Mortgage, Escrow, and the various other types of companies we have the honor of working with every single day.

Looking back and moving forward…

As we begin this New Year, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support and the relationships we have built with you over the years. We really wouldn’t be where we are today without you. We are always grateful for the opportunity to work with you and for you, and to help any loved ones you can refer who may be needing to sell or buy a home. Our passion is to help all our clients as we have hopefully helped you and help them have the best real estate experience possible!

This past year has been filled with a multitude of both challenges and victories. Every year is different, but this one has been filled with more change than normal. The passing of Kathleen in March 2018 was a huge hit to all of us. We still miss her and remember her daily, but we have persevered, and we owe it all to our clients and those who came along side us in our time of mourning. As we move forward, our desire is to continue to do business as Kathleen would – with quality, class and style.

Kathleen would often remind us of what we have printed on our business cards, “It has never been our intention to be the biggest… only the best!” This is a motto we have lived by as her team and a motto we still live by today.

We know there will be many challenges ahead, but we are excited to see what 2019 has in store for us. We go into the New Year with enthusiasm and anticipation, seeking to build new opportunities and even more relationships, and persistently strive to be better every day. We can’t thank you enough for continuing to believe in us and spreading the word that we are still here living in the legacy of Kathleen. We look forward to working with you again soon! Happy New Year!

Designated Broker Kathleen Yamauchi Group Real Estate

Prescott Woman Magazine Kathleen Yamauchi Group Article

If you didn’t get a chance to pick up a copy of this month’s issue of Prescott Woman Magazine, or visit their website at to see it, here is the article we published titled, “The Kathleen Yamauchi Group: Rising Up to Carry on a Business Legacy Built on Family, Faith, and Fortitude,” written by Prescott Woman Magazine’s Tara Fort:

The Kathleen Yamauchi Group has been a pillar in the Prescott community for over 25 years. From the start, natural leader Kathleen Yamauchi excelled in management, marketing and creative vision. She started her agency with a team of highly-skilled professionals and over the years her efforts paid off. In 2016, she made Real Estate Executive Magazine’s list of 100 Most Influential Real Estate Agents. Kathleen’s passion for people allowed her to focus on being the very best at developing relationships. In Spring 2018 with retirement on the horizon, Kathleen and her husband, Shoyei, began grooming their son Dan to take over the family business. But, life takes some strange and unexpected turns, leaving those who remain tasked with sifting through the foundation of what was built, and ultimately carrying on discovering what lies ahead.

Sadly, Kathleen passed away in March after a nine-year battle with cancer. Those who knew her continue to feel her spirit of dedication and uncompromising excellence. Dan Yamauchi says, “My mom earnestly loved those around her and made every effort to serve their needs above her own. We hear stories of how her kindness and joy touched this community and the ways her life positively impacted others. We’re learning to deal with the pain and sadness of her absence, but there’s comfort in knowing she’s remembered for demonstrating the values she cherished.”

Moving forward will be both exciting and bittersweet. While some companies fold or experience massive reorganization after the loss of a founder, the Kathleen Yamauchi Group is just the opposite. Designated Broker Molly Hohrein who has been with the agency since 2002 says, “As far as what is next for us, the answer is simple. We’re here to continue Kathleen’s legacy. As a team, we are driven to maintain what she started, and to continue to grow. Kathleen used to say, ‘It has never been our intention to be the biggest—only the best.’ We will continue to serve the business community and support the volunteer organizations that she selflessly represented.” The team knows there will be challenges along the way and finds inspiration in serving organizations Kathleen supported such as foster care and adoption, the community pregnancy center, youth and military families, and most recently Global Fingerprints—an organization Kathleen chose while in the hospital earlier this year.

As impactful as Kathleen was in the community, it’s not difficult to witness the inspiration she gained from those around her. The broad and diverse group will continue to move forward. Dan states, “Our doors are still open at and we’re keeping her name on the sign. She built a solid team of professionals who will continue offering the best real estate services in town. She was irreplaceable, but we’re very excited to follow her vision and grow this business.”
